Document Retention: What to Keep? What to Toss? 

As technology advances, new forms of communication and record keeping change requirements on which important work-related documents must be preserved. This one-hour webinar will provide participants with tools to assess work-related document retention issues.

Participants will learn:

  • Why must documents be retained
  • The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure’s document retention requirements
  • Preserving relevant documents – e.g., notices
  • Electronic documents – special problems with email and metadata
  • Consequences for failing to preserve – spoliation and sanctions
